It takes the courage of a Lion sometimes to keep from returning to our self destructive patterns of behavior that undermine our intentions for double happiness and fitness. For some reason change is frightening.
We at the corporation have experienced extreme anxiety over a dish of cashew nuts suddenly appearing here all salty and seductive and we nearly fainted when double chocolate macadamia nut cookies appeared in the lunch room too. What to do? We had just finished renewing our Friday afternoon Vows of Moderation in all food groups and Vow to Follow the Middle Way of eating, not too much, not too little. We were surely being tested.
And this is what happened. Most of us immediately were overcome with Treat Amnesia, completely forgetting about the Custard Tarts we had as our treat Thursday, and began power munching on the cookies and cashews. And then something amazing and wonderful occurred! Our Healthy Heart Specialist Master Cheng rumbled like thunder, flashed like lightning and finally she roared like a lion. Instantly our Treat Amnesia lifted and evaporated and we remembered Thursday's treat. We stopped the power munching. This is how the Roaring like a Lion technique was discovered. We at the corporation have found it to be truly useful in moments of slipping and sliding backward into unconscious mental states and physical inertia.
